Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, ⭐⭐⭐⭐

 Read in March 2020

I found it hard to forget about other media portrayals of Frankenstein and his monster while reading this but I could appreciate this for what it is: a classic piece of gothic literature that has inspired and influenced the horror and science fiction genres. There wasn't enough tension and suspense for me and at times too much minutiae. I found it difficult to distinguish the narrators. It was also very slooooow up to Chapter 5 but I stuck with it because it did get better.
